What can be more professionally energizing than attending the first joint MDA-AODA conference on May 26-28, 2016 in Kulala Lumpur, Malaysia? Organized by Malaysian Dietetics’ Association (MDA) and American Overseas Dietetic Association (AODA) the conference, TRANSLATING EVIDENCE BASED INTO SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES will feature more than 39 speakers from 11 countries.
I interviewed Yong Lee Seah from the Conference Committee to learn more about what participants can expect at the inaugural MDA-AODA event.
Joint Chairs Mary Chee Siew Swee & Mary Easaw (also AODA Liason) are excited to host more than 400+ dietitians to build their tool box of practical hand-on presentations.
A diverse group of 30 speakers from more than 11 countries & topics include: Keynote & former Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (AND) President, Sylvia Escott Stump (US)-Investing in Competency for Future Dietetics Practice; AODA Chairperson, Virginia Tijerina Walls (Mexico)-Combatting Childhood Obesity; Erin Kappelhof (US), First 1000 days of Life; Anthony Leeds (UK)- Reversing Diabetes Through Lifestyle Changes & Clara Pi (China) Strategies for a Sustainable Food Supply. I am also honoured to be presenting on the topic, “Working with Competitive Athletes.”
According to Yong Lee Seah participants will be able to exchange/ share knowledge or skills with each other while immersing themselves in a the multi-cultural, multiracial beautiful capital city, Kuala Lumpur.
